New is nice...but old is Awesome!
1968 Chevrolet Impala convertible, claimed to be one of the cars sold new at Nickey Chevrolet in Chicago (google them), which is one of the first dealerships to build and install high performance engines for factory new cars in the 60s, (similar to Baldwin Motion and Yenko), though we don't have physical documentation, this car supposedly received a 427 big block and 4-speed manual upgrade at the dealership and sports these options; Muncie M-21 close ratio 4-speed, 12 bolt posi rear, factory in dash tach, 4-link rear, heavy duty suspension, front and rear stabilizer bars, power front 4-piston disc brakes, 4- core radiator, power steering, power top, the original 427 was blown up in the late 70s and was replaced with a built 1967 396 with 427 studded heads, 10:1 compression, solid lifters, forged crank, pistons, cam, headers, chain drive timing and more, this set-up is still in the car today, runs strong, shifts nice and drives great. As for the body, it was repainted approx. 20 years ago in silver metallic with a hint of pearl as you can see the color changes slightly depending on the angle of the picture, paint is still shiny and nice with only a couple flaws, very straight and solid body, interior is nice, top is nice (though power top pump is getting a little weak, still works, just slow (easy fix). Overall, a very slick looking and unique ragtop Impala with a cool story! CALL
Note: This car was purchased here 3 years ago. The vehicle history stated was relayed to us at that time by a reputable consignor who had purchased this car from a guy who had first hand knowledge of the car and had owned it since the 70s.
This is a consigned vehicle.
